Strep throat sucks, and sewage stinks

Lost count of the days I've had this strep throat, it's pretty much staying in it's "cold" state and wont go away.  Blocked ears, massive mucus blockages in the nose, and occasional coughing.  I can't wait for the nose and ears to clear up, this is getting retarded. At least the sore throat is gone, but everything else has gone to crap.

To make matters worse, yesterday my main sewage line blocked, probably due to blowing my nose so much and all that mucus soiled tissues accumulated to create a blockage.  Had a company come over to unblock it with a high pressure gun.
I need something like this to unblock my nose.

Strep throat sucks

I'm on day 4 of this nasty virus.

Day1: slight sore throat, but a bad feeling it's more than just a sore throat.  Was at work when it started so I finished my shift.  By the time I got home the clinic was closed.  12 hour day shift 7am-7pm.

Day2: wokeup with worse sore throat, fever, and sinus pressure galore.  Called in sick, went to clinic, waited at least 5 hours just so I can get a prescription.  Went home, took it, killed some time, went to bed.

Day3: Sick day again.  Throat no longer feels bad but the fever and runny nose is still there.

Today, day 4: Better but still not 100%.  Boss said to not worry and just stay home.

Right now it's just the nose and ear blockage and general sinus pressure that's a pain.  Hopefully this clears up by tomorrow.  Taking all sorts of drugs.  None seem to do much.  Tempted to make a vacuum hose to straw reducer connector and hookup vacuum to nose. But that would definitely kill the filter.

Off for a few days, so at least I don't have to call in sick for a while.  Hopefully things will clear up by my next set of shifts.  Hate missing this much work.

Also, coding while drugged up and not feeling well is probably not the best idea. Deploying said code to production server is probably even worse idea.  Why do I do these things?  Guess I some way to keep busy between sleep.  I've been trying to not go to bed too early otherwise I wake up at like 4am with a runny nose and it's impossible to get back to sleep.

Finally started on my custom desk

Been procrastinating because it was too hot, well I waited a bit too long since now it's winter.  Or at least it sure feels like it outside.  My garage is not insulated or sealed from the outside.... project for another day.

So anyway, first thing first is I built some saw horses so I can have a place to work, and a few rigs so I can measure once, then cut any amount that is the exact same size.  Basically it's a rig that slides and clamps into place and acts as a stop when I place a piece of wood on the mitre saw.  So if I do missmeasure by a few mm at least it will be consistent throughout all the pieces that have to be that size.    I'm still fairly new at this and one thing that always gets me is where on the line to cut, and also the thickness of the blade.  All things that can slightly make your measurement off.

Wood that will be used:

That nice piece of plywood is presanded and will be the top.  I will most likely stain + varnish.

Unfortunately most of the 2x4's ended up like this...

Hoping to smooth out those edges at least and once it's sanded and painted,  the bad pieces used on part of the desk that will face the wall, it wont be as bad.

One support piece done:

Built 3 of those which will be the main supports.  I was getting cold so stopped there for now.   Not sure what's worse, doing this in summer with sweat pouring down, or doing this in winter when everything I touch is so cold!

Mouse #1 caught

My cat randomly looking in the ceiling was my first clue I might still have an opening somewhere for mice.  Checked the ohm meter and sure enough it went to around 0.5k which is kinda odd.  The traps are wired in parallel so it seems to me one must have tripped and the other may not have as good of a contact.  Opened up the attic hatch and after being caught in a snow storm of blown insulation I retrieved the trap and sure enough there was a cute little mouse on there.  I hate having to kill them but can't let them roam up there either.

I really need to finish up my app so I can setup the email notification.
